Message from Trainer
After conducting over a decade of Train-the-Trainer (TTT) offered bydifferent organisations around the region, we conducted a survey bysending out a set of questions to almost 600 participants in 6 differentcountries. These participants consist of those who have attended a TTTprogramme by Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDCorp)or various other similar programmes. Basically, they are the ones whoaspire to be a trainer in a particular field or industry.
We received a little over 200 respondents from this survey. Only 26.2% became a full-time trainer, 41.9% indicated they train only between 50 to 100 hours in a year and the balance of 31.9% stated they were either Message from the Trainer unable to kickstart their career as a trainer or they were doing less than 50 hours in a year. Multiple reasons were given by those who were unable to make it as a ull-time trainer and the most common ones include the lack of:
1Structure, tools and examples
2A solid training profile due to the lack of opportunities to practice
3Mentoring & Coaching
